Brad Pitt

Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt faced a 15-year ban from visiting China due to his involvement in the film "Seven Years in Tibet" (1997). The movie, based on Austrian mountaineer Heinrich Harrer's memoir from 1952, portrayed the story of Heinrich's friendship with the young spiritual leader before 1950 during a time of political sensitivity for China.

As a result of his association with the film, Brad Pitt was not allowed to enter China until 2014. However, during this period, his then-partner Angelina Jolie visited China to promote Disney's "Maleficent." Similarly, other high-profile figures like Martin Scorsese, Harrison Ford, and Richard Gere also faced a persona non grata status in China due to their involvement in projects perceived as sensitive by the Chinese government.
