Rage Against the Machine
Executive producer Lorne Michaels also removed Rage Against the Machine two years after the Martin Lawrence incident from Saturday Night Live. The band, known for their hip-hop rock style, was featured on an episode hosted by conservative billionaire Steve Forbes, which didn't sit well with them. In protest, lead vocalist Zack de la Rocha attempted to hang American flags upside down on stage as a statement against the host's political views.
However, Calvin Klein's daughter and producer, Marcie Klein, intervened and instructed the band to leave the 30 Rockefeller Plaza studio before performing their second song. This action effectively cut short their appearance on the show.
