Elvis Costello

In 1977, British singer Elvis Costello was banned from ever performing on Saturday Night Live again. The controversy erupted when he and his band, The Attractions, deviated from the agreed-upon song, "Less Than Zero," instead, they defiantly played their anti-corporation track, "Radio Radio," embracing the spirit of punk rock rebellion.

Twelve years later, during The Beastie Boys' performance of "Sabotage" on SNL, Costello unexpectedly rushed onto the stage. Accompanied by Mike D on drums, Ad-Rock on guitar, and the late Adam Yach (MCA) on bass, Costello finally sang his once-controversial song, bringing an unexpected and memorable moment to the show.
