11. Put Lids on Leftover Wet Pet Food:
Some wet foods for cats smell quite uncomfortable. Of course, if you leave the can open after your pets eat, the smell remains and the ants can come quite quickly. The most effective way to handle wet food is to have a separate cat feeding area, and then put food is put in their bowls. After feeding them, close the lid of the leftovers box with a plastic lid (they're available at Walmart), and you can store the leftovers in the fridge until their next meal.
