A girl can never be too careful these days, so we can’t blame Julie for looking up a guy’s info online. However, it’s best to do that in the privacy of your dorm room rather than on a public computer on campus, where anyone - including the guy you’re researching - might walk by.
On the other side, Julie’s efforts weren't entirely wasted. She would have ended up searching for a completely random person if the guy she was looking up hadn’t caught her in the act. Thankfully, he spotted her and graciously provided the correct spelling of his last name, ensuring she got accurate information. This unexpected interaction probably saved her a lot of confusion and embarrassment later on.
