People should focus on whatever stage they are in their life in an interview. For example, your needs are different from those of single, unmarried, or empty nesters if you have young children or babies.
The best thing is to try to live in the moment and do what is best for you. Plenty of people have a home stuck in the past, and it looks like a bachelor pad. You don't need sophisticated items if you don't belong around kids in the far future. You will come to the next stage for a few years, so you should enjoy your current stage to the fullest.
