Drinking Wine the Right Way
While today it's considered a social faux pas to hold a wine glass by its main body and drink a full glass without proper aeration, in ancient Greece, drinking concentrated wine was the real blunder.
In ancient Greece, diluting wine with water in a 3:1 ratio was customary. Those who didn't mix water with their wine were branded as alcoholics lacking morals. The stronger wine blends were reserved for special occasions and celebrations.
