Spartan Marital Practices
In Sparta, arranged marriages were the norm, with rare love marriages. Furthermore, many of these marriages were characterized by infidelity, as men often had multiple partners.
Cheating on one's spouse was commonplace, and interestingly, Spartans faced heavy punishment if they chose to remain single. Legal mechanisms were in place to ensure that young people married upon reaching a certain age, and those who delayed marriage were not exempt from societal pressure.
