Rhodopis: The Cinderella Inspiration
In ancient Greek culture, Rhodopis was a renowned hetaera whose story inspired the timeless fairytale of Cinderella. According to folklore, while Rhodopis was bathing, an eagle snatched her slipper and placed it in the lap of an Egyptian Pharaoh.
Enchanted by the slipper, the Pharaoh's quest to find its owner led him to Rhodopis. They wed, and Rhodopis became the Queen of Egypt.
