Respect the ‘Stache
Whether or not one believes that mustaches command greater respect, it holds true for certain individuals in India. In Madhya Pradesh, policemen are granted additional compensation simply for growing out their facial hair, as their superiors observed a heightened level of respect accorded to them when they sported mustaches.
To determine the effectiveness of this practice, a comprehensive study would likely be necessary. However, upon initial observation, there appears to be some rationale behind this notion, albeit on a superficial level.
