It may come as a surprise, but the Indian film industry, known as Bollywood, surpasses even Hollywood in terms of size and scale. Headquartered in Mumbai, Bollywood churned out an impressive 1,813 films in 2018 alone, solidifying its position as a powerhouse in cinematic production. In fact, since 2012, the amalgamation of Bombay and Bollywood has surpassed the American industry, not just in numbers but in sheer volume.
While it's true that the quantity of films doesn't define their quality, this achievement is undeniably remarkable and sets India apart from other nations. It's a feat that no other country can lay claim to, making it a distinctive aspect of the Indian film industry.
