Barbara Parkins

Canadian-born Barbara Parkins embarked on her quest for fame at 16 when she relocated to Los Angeles. Initially, she was a backup singer and dancer behind renowned nightclub stars. 

1961 she debuted in the low-budget crime film "20,000 Eyes." However, one of her more significant projects was her role in the film adaptation of "Valley of the Dolls." She remained with the series for its entire run and received a 1966 Emmy Award nomination for Best Actress in a Lead Role.
