Nearly every interior design blog tells you to put artwork in your home. The primary difference between a British cottage and an American home is Europeans may have antique family portraits that they passed down from generation to generation. Even if their family could not keep their old paintings, it is still easy to find them in a thrift store. If you're looking for an ancient portrait, you can check out Etsy and eBay, because it can be hard to find in an American thrift store.
