24. Mixed metal
With natural-looking metals like nickel, iron, copper, etc. Having made a significant comeback, 2021 will be the perfect year to incorporate a timeless standard: metal mixing. While finishes are limited to no more than three different metals, combining two or three metals in space provides a chic, timeless, and sophisticated look that requires just one look. Monochrome finishes cannot be achieved. Try mixing silver accents with pewter or bronze, or try pairing gold with iron. Play around and find which endings speak for you and see if you can match them. Start small with a metal planter or planter, and build from there.
