17. Handmade Fabrics for a Relaxed Atmosphere
Shibori, or Japanese tie-dye, has had a moment recently with wild, bright-hued statement fabrics. 2021 decorators, on the other hand, want to use calmer, more subdued handmade and artisan textiles in their rooms. With their delicate, airy textures and raw, subdued finishes, sustainable Jutes, muslins, organic bamboos, and other natural materials will see a revival. Many of 2021's most popular styles, especially the artisan and biophilia design trends, will incorporate these fabrics. Scrap fabric bits, especially those with florals, will also make lovely additions to rooms decorated in 2021's delicate and jewel tones.
