Padma Patil attended the Yule Ball as Ron Weasley's date after her sister chose to accompany Harry Potter. Despite being Ron's date, he seemed disinterested in Padma, with his attention constantly drawn to Hermione Granger, who was Viktor Krum's companion.
Padma and her twin sister later left Ron and Harry to socialize with boys from Beauxbatons. Padma was a Ravenclaw student who eventually became a prefect and joined Dumbledore's Army, actively participating in the Battle of Hogwarts.
