You can use good ole toilet paper to wrap around your front door and use two circles of felt for the eyes. This is an idea from an Egyptian mummy.
Alternatively, if your porch has an overhang and it's stable, use a ladder so you can stand on it and reduce your display by placing mini pumpkins on top.
