The Absence of Coca-Cola

Coca-Cola did establish a bottling plant in Cuba in 1906. However, production ceased in 1962 with the rise of Fidel Castro's Cuban Revolution, which led to the removal of former President Batista from power. Castro's government initiated the expropriation of properties belonging to foreign nations with a presence in Cuba and imposed a trade embargo.

This process commenced on August 6, 1960, primarily targeting American businesses, and Coca-Cola left Cuba and did not return. Owing to the United States' continued commercial, economic, and financial embargo against Cuba, American companies are prohibited from conducting trade with the country.
