Bacardi Rum: A Cuban Origin Story
Bacardi rum originated in Cuba and was initially produced there. However, production shifted to Puerto Rico after Fidel Castro came to power. Notably, the Bacardi family had ardently supported the Cuban revolution in the 1950s.
At the outset of his campaign, Fidel Castro did not present himself as a communist but a liberal reformer seeking to end American economic control over Cuba and overthrow the Batista regime.
