The Dominance of Cuba's Communist Party

Cuba has been under the control of the Communist Party since 1965, making it the sole recognized political party in the country. The Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), also known as the Partido Comunista de Cuba (PCC), was established in 1965 by Fidel Castro and other leaders, with historical roots dating back to 1923.

Under the 1976 law, the PCC became the exclusive political party allowed to operate in Cuba, and in the 1992 revision, it was described as the "regulated guardian of the Cuban government."
