The Duality of Cuban Currencies

Cuba employs a unique dual-currency system, making it the only country in the world with this distinction. Tourists use one currency, while Cubans utilize another. Until January 1, 2021, both were known as pesos.

However, one is termed the "Cuban peso," and the other is the "Cuban convertible peso." It's worth noting that neither of these currencies is traded internationally, and they cannot be obtained in advance outside of Cuba. The import and export of Cuban currency are strictly prohibited.
