5. The Proposal

Andrew Paxton had a problem. His employer, Margaret Tate, is a Canadian whose visa is about to expire. So she could keep her job and stay in the United States forced her to force Andrew to pretend that they were engaged. Because Andrew had to go home for his grandmother's birthday in Sitka, Alaska. Throughout the movie, Andrew and Margaret have to pretend to be a couple and fall in love in the process. In the film, Andrew's parents are like the Alaskan royal, living in a lake villa that is only accessible by boat or plane.

The house is the focus of the Proposal, as we see it in almost every scene involving Andrew's family. In real life, the house is not in Alaska, but in Manchester, Massachusetts. The villa has 9 bedrooms, with 10 bathrooms, owned by the real-life Kaneb family. In real life, the house looks too similar to Cape Cod (because it is), so designers need to create a facade to make it more Alaskan style.
