You Can Afford It
If you're asking for a favor from a friend, it's typical to ask someone you know really well and trust. You don't reach out to random Facebook friends you haven't spoken to in ages - at least, you don't unless you're this person.
It's already brave to ask for favors from friends you haven't spoken to in so long that you don't even know they moved cities, but then to ask for money is just a step too far. You aren't entitled to their funds or time.
