Digital artists work hard to create their art, and many sell it to make some money to continue pursuing their passion. One of the worst things both friends and strangers can do to them is to try and pass off the artist's art as their own.
It sounds like this so-called friend was selling someone else's art while in art school, which is messed up on so many levels. Maybe someone should explain to her that that's not actually how thrift shops work.
