16. Swimming Pool
When Elvis bought Graceland, the first thing he did was construct a patio and a swimming pool. The pool area is subdued compared to the rest of the estate, which is lively and full of décor. One of the most popular Graceland legends is that the swimming pool is shaped like a guitar. However, it's actually fashioned like a kidney bean. It measures around 18 by 36 feet.
Like the rest of Graceland, the swimming pool hasn't changed much in the last few decades. Except for a modern mechanical pool cleaning, the collection is as it was erected in 1957. The Graceland swimming pool has been maintained by the same pool business, Memphis Pool since Elvis died in 1977.
