In your attic, you don't need to construct something too complicated. It doesn't even have to be fully furnished – it's a blank canvas that you can fill with whatever you want and then work on finishing over time. As this is your personal space, it should fit your taste.
If you are a die-hard gamer, you can turn this space into a game room. Get a couple of cots or even a camping tent set up for your mates to sleep in if you plan to have a game night with your mates. You can stack up on anything, from an Xbox to a Playstation to board games. You might also add a pool table and a dartboard to the mix.
