8. When something is out of sight, it is out of mind.
My grandmother is a hoarder, but she stores her belongings in storage units rather than cramming them into her home, and she enjoys giving them away. When I was younger, I used to enjoy it because I still had fun dress-up clothes. Later, I discovered that she never threw out my mother's or aunt's clothing. Over the years, my aunts have been assisting her in clearing out her garage and several storage units, not to be such a challenge. My grandfather, on the other hand, was in the military and moved around a lot. Then my mother says, "I'm sure there are storage spaces all over the country with her things."
At the very least, Reddit user's fancy talk has some positive memories to fall back on, such as playing dress-up with their grandma. Since these headlines are primarily negative, it's refreshing to see any positive aspects emerge. Fortunately, in this case, which is even more unusual, the hoarder has stored their belongings elsewhere, such as storage units. In the majority of cases, hoarders are surrounded by their belongings. They will have to wait to see what happens with the other storage units, and who knows what they will find if they haven't visited them in decades.
