Surfing's Origins Trace Back to Hawaii

Surfing has deep roots in Hawaii, dating back to the 4th century A.D. Polynesians from Tahiti and the Marquesas, who settled in the Hawaiian Islands, introduced the tradition of riding waves on boards.

Additionally, there's strong evidence that the modern sport of Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) originated in Hawaii, thanks to the pioneering beach boys of Waikiki. Maui's big wave surfers have recently rekindled interest in this iconic sport.
