Beaches Are Public and Smoke-Free
Since 2015, smoking has been prohibited at Hawaiian beaches and state parks. Both tobacco products and e-cigarettes are banned in these areas. Hawaii has also raised the legal smoking age statewide to 21.
A noteworthy fact about Hawaii: All beaches in the Hawaiian Islands are considered public up to the high-water mark, with the portion of the beach potentially being privately owned.
