Think Before You Speak
As children grow up, their imaginations can be both magical and terrifying. A coat on a chair can become a ghost, and a shadow behind the door becomes a monster. It’s part of childhood—but have we ever stopped to question why those things are so scary?
This cartoonist offers a gentle twist: what if monsters aren’t all that monstrous? After all, we’ve never heard of them actually doing harm. Maybe calling them “monsters” is a little unfair. When we assign labels to things we don’t understand, we can unintentionally create fear where none is needed. A clever reminder for both kids and adults that words matter—and so do the stories we tell ourselves.
