4. Divide Mounding Perennials
After a few summers of development, many mounding perennials like Hostas, Daisies, and Irises can become fairly robust and choke themselves out. It's critical to divide these perennials regularly to avoid any growth restrictions. Early summer before flowering, divide mounding perennials in the spring or after flowering has finished in the autumn.
The most excellent part about mounding perennials is that you can acquire more plants for free over time! Through careful splitting, one or two Hostas can grow into a robust dozen or so plants over time. To avoid transplant shock, split the parts and transfer them right away.
