I Swear I Didn't Shoplift

Many retail stores employ various security measures to deter shoplifting, including using electronic tags that trigger alarms when tampered with or ink tags that render stolen items unusable or unsellable. While these precautions are entirely justified in combating theft, an unfortunate issue arises when store employees forget to remove these security tags from items purchased by legitimate customers.

As a result, shoppers may return home with their newly acquired clothing only to discover that they are rendered unwearable due to these tags. It's an understandably frustrating situation.
