Astronomer Invented the Leap Year
Cleopatra played an indirect role in the creation of the leap year. She introduced her astronomer to Julius Caesar, and the astronomer's invention was adopted into the Roman calendar around 45 BC.
This innovation eventually found its way into the Egyptian calendar as well, fundamentally changing how we account for time.
