Cleopatra was actually quite strong and succeeded as a good ruler. She managed to increase the monetary value of her nation, bringing Egypt to become the richest in the Mediterranean. They were also the last one to stay independent of the Roman Empire.
It seemed Cleopatra's political allies were partly to thank with this, including trade with the Arab nations that helped to create Egypt as a true world power.
