Many people use basil in their cooking because it enhances a dish's flavor and is even used as an ornament when serving dinner to make it look better. Another reason to use basil is to improve your overall health. Ocimum Basilcum is another name used for oil. One note is for people with epilepsy. They should not use basil in their home or food to cause more problems than it helps them.

Basil can aid digestion, especially with a stomach ache or irritable bowel syndrome. It is also known as an antispasmodic, antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory essential oil, so it has many other health benefits, such as muscle relaxation and alertness.
