Although the song was released in 2005, Amber Rose and Kanye West started dating in 2008. After their relationship ended, Amber Rose began dating rapper Wiz Khalifa in 2011. They married in 2013 and appeared happy until Amber filed for divorce in 2014, seeking custody of their son. She received a million-dollar settlement from the divorce.
Following these relationships, Amber Rose had short-lived romances with Machine Gun Kelly and rapper 21 Savage. She later had a child with Def Jam record executive Alexander Edwards. Amber Rose now states that she has chosen to remain single.
