26. Tonsillitis and saltwater
When our gums are swollen or uncomfortable, we are frequently recommended to gargle and rinse our mouth with saltwater. However, the advantages of saltwater extend far beyond that. It also relieves the pain and swelling associated with tonsillitis.
You can also use this mixture to treat a sore throat and a variety of respiratory ailments. The high salt concentration of the water decreases inflammation and pain, and the infection gradually goes away. To swish and gargle around your mouth, all you need is half a teaspoon of salt in a cup of lukewarm water.
