Sadly, Carol Ann Susi passed away from lung cancer in 2014 at 62. Though she always remained off-screen, Debbie Wolowitz was a beloved and integral character in "The Big Bang Theory" throughout the years. The show also memorialized her by having the character pass away, which allowed the actors to pour their real grief into their work. Following her death, the producers wrote on the vanity card, "Mrs. Wolowitz, every time you spoke, we laughed. You're in our hearts forever."
