14. Part 2 - Step 2: Complete the mattress protection and head support of your bed
When the veneer tape is secure, and the sanding is complete, cut the side rails and rails to the length you need. Sand these pieces and then cut the bars from 1 x 4s, the side supports from 2 x 4s and the foundation from the inch thick plywood.
One point to note in this step, you only need to use the stick if making the bed frame for a large or larger mattress. You will also need two pads for the King size bed as the frame will have a larger opening.
