22. Maintain Financial Control

In some partnerships, one partner may choose to pay the bills while the other is away. Most housewives used to be expected to manage household finances such as shopping budgets, mortgage payments, and putting money aside in a savings account. However, many couples choose to keep their separate checking accounts in today's environment while establishing a joint statement to pay for shared expenses. This is a perfectly typical thing to have happened in a relationship when done healthily. Some spouses, on the other hand, utilize the money to exert control over their partners. This is referred to as financial exploitation and is also one of the main reasons that lead to a higher divorce rate.
