7. Being overly concerned with the house's appearance.
We've talked a lot about how terrible cleaning habits can lead to divorce thus far on this list. Is it going to harm you if you neglect to make the bed one morning? We are sometimes too preoccupied with racing to work or meeting deadlines to clean straight away. But that's not to say it won't happen in the future. My roommates, for example, frequently tell me that I am the cleanest and most organized person in the house. Despite this, I regularly let documents pile up on my desk for up to a week before clearing them. This flaw does not invalidate the remaining 90% of my cleanliness.
If you're married, you should already be aware of how filthy or clean your spouse is. As a result, it should only be a concern if this occurs frequently. It might be unsettling to start nagging someone the one time they are less-than-perfect. It can feel like an attack when you pick on someone for their odd flaw. And it isn't good if someone can't relax in their own home.
