9 Disagreement on Cleanliness Standards

For some couples, defining what constitutes "clean" can be a significant difficulty. For example, you may believe the shower is clean because you sprayed and washed it down. But then your spouse comes in and insists that the grout can only be neat if you scrub it for an hour straight with a toothbrush. When a couple isn't on the same page regarding this, offensive and harsh accusations like "You never clean" can be made. In truth, the other person may believe that they are constantly cleaning. The standards are not the same. It's going to be a significant problem if you don't both agree on what defines "clean enough."

There was supposed to relieve Kate of some of her responsibilities since she was overworked and stressed from raising their eight children. On the other hand, Kate had such high cleaning standards that the girl continued to clean even after the cleaner had left. She pushed back the bulky furniture, pointing to the dust bunnies that the maid had overlooked. Kate fired the maid right away since she wasn't up to the task. There were just one of their many problems in their marriage, and they eventually divorced.
