The Amish community is often recognized for its peaceful nature, with only a single homicide reported in Amish communities in the U.S.
Nevertheless, minor crimes, such as drunk driving with horse-powered buggies, do occur and may result in community members serving jail time. Some individuals are reintegrated after their sentences, while others are not.
