The Death of Colosimo: A Shift in Power

At the time when Capone contracted syphilis, he was at the pinnacle of his youth and ambition, fueled by a relentless desire for success, wealth, and women. He was more determined than ever to conquer the world. In 1920, a shocking incident occurred when "Big Jim" Colosimo was discovered dead, riddled with bullets outside his restaurant. While no one could identify the perpetrator, rumors began circulating about a new and formidable presence in town—Al Capone himself.

Johnny Torrio, Capone's mentor and initially second in command, now found himself in control of the entire operation after the convenient demise of his boss. The circumstances surrounding Colosimo's death cast suspicions upon Torrio and Capone, as ambitious gangsters vying for supremacy raised concerns among law enforcement.
