History Repeats Itself

Capone's men retaliated against Weiss's initial rejection of the truce proposal by gunning down Hymie Weiss, mirroring the way Capone had eliminated Dean O'Banion two years earlier. This act dragged Capone even deeper into the quagmire of gang warfare. Predictably, Weiss's lieutenants were further incensed, perpetuating the cycle of bloodshed with bullets and escalating animosity.

The North Side Gang retaliated by capturing one of Capone's closest friends and the owner of the Hawthorne Inn. Capone's world seemed crumbling, and he began to descend into a state of nervous paranoia. Nevertheless, he managed to maintain his strategic edge, staying one step ahead of his adversaries.
