You want to make sure that you do all of your homework diligently now that you've found your dream home so that you have fewer challenges down the line. Examine every surface of the house, both inside and out.

There may be lead paint residues that need to be cleaned, water contamination that needs to be repaired extensively, or blown electrical devices that need to be replaced. These factors may or may not indicate that you should not purchase the house, but you must factor them into your maintenance budget.
