Weiss – Mariah Carey
Fans are accustomed to witnessing singer Mariah Carey bedecked in sparkles and sporting luxurious, cascading locks. Nevertheless, when it came to her appearance in the 2009 drama "Precious," she shed her customary glamour. Mariah, affectionately known as Mimi, portrayed the character of Ms. Weiss, the social worker in Gabourey Sidibe's powerful portrayal of Precious.
Interestingly, the initial plan was for English actress Helen Mirren to assume this role. However, she withdrew in favor of a more significant role in another project. Director Lee Daniels, who had previously collaborated with Mariah, was so profoundly impressed by her performance that he chose to cast her in this more understated role.
