Madame D – Tilda Swinton
Wes Anderson's 2014 comedy-drama, The Grand Budapest Hotel, boasts an extensive ensemble featuring seventeen actors in its main cast. Within the film, the character of Madame D., a wealthy dowager, serves as the foundation for the entire plot.
Originally intended for Angela Lansbury, the role eventually went to Tilda Swinton, a longstanding collaborator of Anderson. Similar to other actors on this roster, Tilda Swinton is known for her remarkable transformations in various roles. In order to portray an 84-year-old character, the Scottish actress dedicated five hours to the makeup process.
