Tippi Hedren – The Birds
Alfred Hitchcock's mistreatment of people on his sets, notably actress Tippi Hedren during "The Birds," is now infamous. Initially, she was assured that the birds would be mechanical.
However, live birds were substituted without Tippi's consent. During the famous attic scene, she had live birds tied to her and thrown at her, resulting in severe pecking and nearly losing an eye.
