17. Harm of alcohol
Dogs are not allowed to drink alcohol because dogs can exhibit severe CNS symptoms and other afflictions. Just a tiny amount of alcohol can trigger dangerously toxic levels, dubbed metabolic acidosis. Alcohol is also harmful even to humans.
If you find hypothermia, vomiting, lethargy, restlessness, muscle tremors, convulsions, high body temperature, and diarrhea are symptoms of alcohol harm. Without treatment, binge drinking can cause organ system failure and even death. Contact your veterinarian if you suspect your dog has been drinking too much.
